Genomic Nanosystems is a digital PCR device manufacturer for disease surveillance. GNS has developed DigitalDrops and Nanoplates to count nucleic acids.
Applications. The applications for GNS technology include:
- Mutant sequences counting in a background of similar sequences
as needed for cancer surveillance
- Gene counting in non-invasive surveillance for fetal genetic
abnormalities in a mother's blood.
- Clonal amplification of nucleic acids for sequencing, digital gene
expression analyses and digital DNA methylation analyses
- Counting pathogens in surveillance for infections and sepsis
- Counting signature nucleic acids such as for bacteria in food or
water, environmental monitoring and detection of pathogens in case of a deliberate biological attack
